Cupping Certification Course

June 8th, 2024 – 9am-6pm (Lunch 1-2pm) $75

To Pre-Register, contact Joshua@AcupunctureEmbodied.com or text 916-918-5568

  • This upcoming course, hosted at Wasenshi Kan Martial and Healing Arts in Roseville, CA, will be covering what cupping is, how it is beneficial to a personal or professional practice, and how to perform it safely and effectively. Sheets, lotions, and cups for the day will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own, and welcome to bring transportable treatment tables.
  • For use during a professional massage, cupping can give the practitioner a few minutes to pause their work to put on some cups for a prolonged stretch over muscle that is having trouble releasing from bodywork techniques alone, or can be used over an actively spasming muscle to help stop the spasm. Massaging an actively spasming muscle is difficult for the patient, while cupping, as a form of lifting the muscle to stretch it, instead of pushing down on the muscle, can provide a lot of relief.
  • Traditional Fire Cupping, using thick pyrex and glass cups, has been used for thousands of years to help stretch muscle, improve blood flow, and move fluids and “toxins”. Modern “Pneumatic” or Vacuum Cupping is commonly used by massage therapists and physical therapists, popularized by athletes like Olympian Michael Phelps, and has many of the same benefits as Fire Cupping, without the need for fire, but there are some things that Pneumatic Cupping cannot do. Both will be explained and practiced in this course.
  • Certificate of Completion will be given to all attendees who demonstrate skill on the day of the seminar. If you are unable to demonstrate for any reason, we can arrange for a later date. Distance learning via Zoom is not planned for this course. This seminar is an AJJF sanctioned event (pending). Pre-registration is requested so that we can plan for the number of students present, and will allow us to email you a copy of the lecture notes before the day of the seminar. This course is priced as low as we could reasonably go, since most similar certifications are $200+, but we want to share this knowledge in the spirit of both safe practices and kokua, and we hope to see you on June 8th.
